Obituary of Nancy Lee Nielsen
NANCY LEE NIELSEN age 48 of Lake Mills passed away peacefully at her home on July 14, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born on July 27, 1969 in Waukesha to Robert and Mary Ann (Bayer) Nielsen. Nancy graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1987. She attended University of Wisconsin River Falls and University of Wisconsin Whitewater. She worked for 22 years at Oconomowoc Developmental Training Center –Genesee Lake School as a Counselor and Program Supervisor for individuals with developmental disabilities and 7 years with Schroedl’s Meat Market. Nancy had a kind heart and always went out of her way to help family and friends. She was a talented artist and enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her nieces. She also liked helping out on the family dairy farm. Nancy was a Special Olympics Coach for many years. She was an avid gardener and landscaper.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Nielsen of Lake Mills, brother Tom (Diane) Nielsen of Whitewater, WI, brother Tim (Kris) Nielsen of Winnebago, IL, and their children Joe and Claire Nielsen, sister Theresa Ann (Chris) Mullen of Lake Mills, and their children Matthew (Ally) Hasel and Melissa Norton, sister Linda Nielsen of West Salem, OH, sister Lisa Brahmer of Omro, WI, and her son Josh Brahmer, brother Christopher (Jessica) Nielsen of Lake Mills and their children Kayda, Madalyn and Kenzie Nielsen. Great nieces and nephews Levi, Paisley Norton, Cheyanne and Corbin Hasel, and George Nielsen, a special uncle who was very dear to her, along with many other family and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father Robert Nielsen, and Maternal and Paternal grandparents and her beloved cat, Sassy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 20, 2018 at St. Francis of Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills with the Rev. David Wanish presiding. Burial will follow in the Aztalan/Milford cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday July 19, 2018 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson and then again at the Church in Lake Mills on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
